Arlington Stamp Day is Tomorrow!…

Posted by Jen | projects | Friday, April 27, 2007

I am so excited that the 2nd Arlington Stamp Day is tomorrow. I have never before participated in a shoebox swap, but am very excited to see what everyone has come up with. I will post my card tomorrow, along with the challenge.
As for today, I am posting the door prize that I am donating. When I first got to thinking about a door prize, I thought that I would make a couple things and bundle them up. Then I got to thinking (oh no, not that again!). We all love to create things on our own, so I put together a bunch of item that can be altered. Some of the stuff that I have included is a Target mailbox, a large composition book, a small composition book, a mini paper mache box, coasters, luggage tag holders, a Godiva coffee drink 4 pk…and a whole bunch more.

Of course I had to put something cute on the front of it. What in the world should I label this? Well, I kinda…no make that I did, snatch up the title “Alter This” from SCS. That pretty much says it all! The letters are cut with the Red Tag Sale Cuttlebug alphabet and the Primas are from Eclectic Paperie.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know that I am going to have a blast this weekend eating with a bunch of other SCSer’s tonight, then stamping ALL DAY tomorrow.

Bridal Shower Sample…

Posted by Jen | cards, projects | Tuesday, March 27, 2007

I created this Bridal Shower sample to show to a friend of mine. There’s actually no stamping involved on this piece, but it certainly has the potential for stamping. The base of the flat card is on Basic Black and the printing was done in MS Word on Very Vanilla. I really like this design and plan to make some Baby Shower Invites and Baby Announcements using the same format/layout, but with different colors.

DON’T FORGET…The Blogger’s Challenge

Blogger’s Challenge~What Do You Think?…

Posted by Jen | projects | Thursday, March 22, 2007

You may have seen a couple SCSers doing a one on one challenge with each other. For instance, Lindsey Botkin {see her 2/27/07 post} and Julia Stainton just did a little challenge together.
So, I have been tossing around the idea of doing a Blogger’s Challenge. In my head this is how it works (bare with me, I know it’s a little rough). I will name a set or a stamp that is to be used differently on 2 cards/projects. You will have 3 days to post them to your blog. For instance, I am going to post one Saturday, and you will have until Monday night to post it on your blog. There are no winners or losers, it’s meant to be fun and to get you stamping! Once your post is up, come back here and put a link in the comments section under the challenge post. I know that not everyone has every stamp and if you don’t have that one, just wait until the next one. I will probably do mostly SU! stuff, but will surely throw in some other companies as well (think Stamping Bella, My Favorite Things, The Cat’s Pajamas, PaperTreyInk, A Muse, etc).

So tell me what you think! Any suggestions? What do you think about RAKing them as well?

Bunny Hugs Bag Topper…

Before I get started on the cute stuff…
When we set up this website, we did not select the option for anti-spam comments. It has come to our realization that Viagra pill pushers and dirty movie pushers are posting to the comments section of this site. To each is own, but not on this site! So, just to let you know, we will be implementing a anti-spam “feature”. The way it works is anyone who has posted a comment before can continue posting (using same email address I believe). Anyone who hasn’t posted before may do so, but it will go to a queue which I then approve. The instructions aren’t very clear so if this doesn’t work we will try something else. I appreciate your continued support and am sorry that a few bad guys had to ruin for the rest of us.

This is one of the projects that we did last night at my Stamp Night. Everyone seemed to love it and it was certainly my favorite project of the night! I just love that little bunny! I thought everyone was going to hate me with all the cutting they had to do…each blade of grass and the bunny, but I think they still like me. These would make great teacher, class party or neighbor gifts. A little tip…to make sure that your flower are neither floating or sinking, before you glue your grass down, lay it on top of the white panel and mark the top of the blades. Stamp the bottom of your flowers just a touch below that mark to make it look like they are blooming from the grass.

More Baby Stuff…

Are you sick of it yet? Well, I can’t be, because I just found out that another friend of mine has a bun in the oven. I am, to say the least, a *wee* bit excited for her and her DH! The Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast was the perfect layout for a perfect inspiration.
I may have a new fave stamp set from SU!…I absolutely {heart} Polka Dots and Petals. I didn’t think that I would because I often am troubled when trying to create stuff with sets like little pieces. For some reason, this set and I click! I love making backgrounds with it and, although I haven’t tried it yet, it will work great with masking, kissing and creating patterns on stuff that was otherwise plain. I almost made her dress floral by doing this, but decided against it at the last minute.
