It’s Time To Shower…

Posted by Jen | cards, projects | Saturday, September 1, 2007

Um, I mean…it’s Shower Time.

It’s September 1st…{really…I know!! Where did August go? If you’re in Texas, you know it just melted away in this dang heat!}

My Favorite Things has new things for you!! Here’s another lil’ project using the new set…SHOWER TIME. Isn’t this just the sweetest set? I am so in love with endless possibilities using the umbrella {see yesterday’s post for umbrella fun}. For today’s post, I wanted to showcase the versatility of the images. The smaller images and sentiments are cute and fun, as well…with or without the umbrella girl.

The little goodie “box” houses a Hershey Nugget {no template}. I think that several of these would look so awesome lined up on a table as favors.

See you tomorrow when I get to introduce one hot mama to you as the September Guest Designer. It’s a day later than usual, I know. Sorry about the date confusion in the last post…I told you I was a nerd; just make that a forgetful nerd.

We are going to our first TCU tailgate today. I hope Tony will share some pics with you in his post on Monday. If not, I’ll have them for you later in the week. Have a great long weekend!!

My Favorite 48…

Posted by Jen | projects | Thursday, August 30, 2007

Well, as promised, I am starting my sneak peeks into the mini set and items that will be available on September 1st through MY FAVORITE THINGS.
Creative genius, Kim, over at MFT has put together a sweeeeeet deal for all of you that love Prismas!! It’s called MY FAVORITE 48. What the heck is that, you ask?
MY FAVORITE 48 is a collection of hand picked Prismacolor Premier pencils selected from all 132 colors. The collection comes with an alterable clear paint can that you can use to store your pencils in, a Pebbles click eraser, a sanding block and a collection of blending stumps. All of that goodness for $75….

But, wait, there’s more!!! {sorry, I just couldn’t resist that line!!!}…

During the entire month of September, Kim is throwing in the new mini set…FOR FREE! After September, you can add the current mini to the MY FAVORITE 48 deal for just $5!

I’m an eP Friend…

Posted by Jen | cards, projects | Friday, August 24, 2007

Yea!! Joy asked me if I would like to be the eP {eclecticpaperie.com} friend this week. Well, of course I would!! I love all the stuff that Joy and Daisy have put in their store. Right now I’m saving my pennies {and nickels, dimes and quarters} for a Bind-It-All!! I find myself perusing the merchandise quite frequently, which leads me to happy mail quite frequently…if you know what I mean!! Hugs to Joy and Daisy for having me as the eP friend of the week! I’d like to share with you some of the stuff that I have come up with using stuff that I am not currently hoarding.
In case you haven’t noticed, they have an **awesome** selection of papers! Taylor kept mentioning Crate Paper, so when I saw it in the store, I snapped some up. This one sheet box (I swear it’s a bag…LOL!) features paper from the Cowgirl Collection. I made a matching zipper pull/keychain using Maya Road Blossom chipboard {**on sale now**} covered in the same paper and then covered with Crystal Effects from SU!.

I also made a card with some fun stuff from eP. Last week my happy mail included FLOCK!! I’ve played with this fun fuzzy stuff a little bit before, but never really experimented with it. A couple night ago I decided to see what I could do with it. Now, I admit I didn’t go all crazy, but I do like what I came up with. I took a medium weight coaster and covered it with {sheet} sticky tape from Provo Craft, then I ran it through the Cuttlebug to get a flower die cut with one sticky side. I covered that sticky side in Pixie Pink flock and then embellished it with a button with ribbon. The stem was created with polka dot grosgrain ribbon and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things. **MFT is coming out with something NEW on the first…Sneak Previews coming soon!!**

Last but not least, I have to share this super cute pic of Ellie in my shades. She’s such a ham!!

I’ll have a new sketch for you to try tomorrow. TGIF!

TCU Tin and Some Random Thoughts…

Posted by Jen | projects | Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Well, Tony is officially on his way to earning his MBA. Classes started Monday and so far, so good. Tony applied to grad school late in the game and the lady in the admissions office really helped guide him through the admissions and scholarship processes. I know that Tony really appreciates all that she did, so last night I asked him if he wanted be to make a little ‘thank you’ for her. He of course said, ‘yes,’ and off I went to my studio. This project idea is obviously taken from Nichole Heady’s blog. I just love these tins, and I have plenty of them to make little gifts. If you didn’t guess, TCU’s spirit color is purple. This paper is from American Crafts’ The Goods line and is named “Umbrella.” How cute is that!?!…LOL!

And now for some really random thoughts…
I recently tried Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste…AWESOME. It really is like you just came from the dentist. How’s that for randomness!?!?!
I do not watch reality tv. I have never seen a full episode of American Idol, I don’t like Survivor and no way will I ever flip to Big Brother. However, last year I got hooked on America’s Got Talent. Last night we DVR’d the this year’s finale. DVR is a great thing when David Hasslehoff performs. Gotta love that fast forward button!!
