I {Heart} Caffeine…

Posted by Jen | MFT, cards | Thursday, February 5, 2009

Long ago, Tony ratted me out as a Coke {Classic} addict. I have since given up “real” soda to shed some pounds. My indulgence turned to Diet Dr. Pepper, but I have something to admit. I have been a Starbucks fan for quite some time, but I am now giving my love to the lil’ guy in town…Jitter Beans {NoCal folks may know them}. The new {drive thru} coffee house has a delectable drink that has stolen my heart…{non-fat} Mexican Mocha, equipped with my choice of 2 or 3 shots of espresso. Mmmmm and BUZZZZZZZ! On the way home from Ellie’s Wiggles class I went through the drive thru {the only way to get your coffee here, actually, bc it is just a wee little building} and picked up my MM and went home. I was about half way done after lunch when I put Ellie down for a nap, so it was the perfect inspiration piece {and refreshment} for my stamping.
As you may already know, My Favorite Things released new sets last night. One was the alphabet {Bling Bet} that I showed you the other day. My card for today features another new {and oh so cute!} set, Tea For Two.

Needless to say, I think that the sentiment says it all!

Bling Bet Bounce…

Posted by Jen | MFT, blog hopping | Monday, February 2, 2009

What?…
Bling Bet Bounce!!

Bling Bet=The new alphabet set from My Favorite Things that will be released tomorrow, which BTW was an idea brought to Kim by yours truly. I was inspired by a diamond monogram necklace and thought that it would be cool to have a stamp set like it! How’s that for some inspiration!!??!!

Bounce=Well, tomorrow is the monthly MFT Blog Hop, but today is the Bounce.

If you didn’t start at the beginning, be sure to bounce back onto Kim’s blog. When you are all done here, bounce on over to Jessie’s blog to see her fabulous creation!

For my sample I used Swarovski crystals to “bling” it up.

Can you guess who this is for? Ellie, of course! This is a little Valentine’s tag that I made for her. I started with a Nestabilities die cut in Kraft and patterned paper {My Mind’s Eye}. I cut the one from patterned paper in half and edged it with a strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock that I cut with decorative scissors. After I attached it to the Kraft base, I sewed around the edges twice in a “crazy stitch.” This is the highly specialized stitch of one that can’t sew a straight line to save their life {anyone with me on this one?}. Then I sponged around the edges and attached the Swiss Dots embossed heart along with the monogram and sentiment {MFT} panel. To finish it off, I attached a large eyelet {SU!} and some fab ribbon that I got in one of Jody’s ribbon shares.

Well, I’m signing off for now. Don’t forget to keep on bouncin’ over to Jessie’s blog. Also, Kim just released a new digital paper pack called Chocolate Kiss…easily the best digi papers on the site…LOVE THEM!! Also, you can check out all the details of the release HERE and see all the sneak peek HERE.

New Logo And New Stamps…

Posted by Jen | MFT, Slice, cards | Monday, January 5, 2009

Well, I got an email from Sara this morning saying that she had not slept and was still working on the overall site design. I told her to GO TO BED! So, the entire site isn’t all changed up yet…as I am sure that you can see, but I do have my cool new logo to show you {thank you Sara!}. TA-DA…

So, what do you think? Personally I love it and can’t wait to see how the entire site will be a reflection of this logo. Are you asking why I need a logo? If you are thinking that I am starting my own stamp company, I hate to break it to ya, but NO WAY! Not that it doesn’t sound like a fun adventure…just not one for me. I do have some other stuff that I am working and I really wanted I piece that I can identify with and people can identify with me. Make sense? Probably not, but play along, k? ;)

As for the new stamps, I have been playing with some of the upcoming new release stuff from My Favorite Things. Although I am technically a DT member, I do have some of the upcoming stuff and I am happy to show it. Here is Valentine’s Flopsey…

Detail…

All of the sentiments that come with this set can fit into the heart that he is holding, but I just love the paper that I was working with that I wanted to do a little paper piecing to make it all matchy-matchy. Isn’t that they cutest paper. Paper Crafts sent it to me when I got one of my cards back from them. It’s from Dream Street Papers and I am definitely going to have to find out where to get my hands on some more. Too cute! The shape that they bunny is mounted on was cut from my Noteworthy Slice cartridge {Seriously, I can’t put this thing away!}. On the Kiwi Kiss panel, I ran it through the Cuttlebug after I cut it. As for the finishing touches, I added some paper piercing, white gel pen dots and K & Co. rhinestones. I have some more ideas for this lil’ guy, so be warned that this isn’t the last of him!

The My Favorite Things release is on Wednesday night. There will be a blog hop on Wednesday, starting on Kim’s blog. Instead of a full blown release “party,” there will be chatter in the MFT Forum on SCS just prior to the 10pm EST release.
