One More Day and The CUTEST Pictures EVER…

Posted by Jen | Ellie, random ramblings | Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Hello everyone!! I hope all my US pals had a wonderful long weekend. We had friends over yesterday and cooked hot dogs and chicken on the grill. I made fruit salad and fresh guacamole YUM-O! I am taking just one more day off. I am really on a roll with stuff for next week’s MFT release {I am giddy about this, I tell ya!}, so I want to keep working on it. I’ll be back tomorrow with some stampin’ stuff to show you. Until then, you can check out Toni’s blog for all the info on TCP Tuesday. Have a great day!

Here’s some pics of Ellie that I got this weekend! She is just the cutest, although I might be a **little** biased!

I’ll DEFINITELY be getting a frame for these two…

ABC Friday~ A Clear Scraps Trio…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Ellie, projects | Friday, April 25, 2008

TGIF All! I hope everyone has a great weekend planned. Tonight I am teaching a class at my LSS. This is the first class that I am teaching there and I am super excited. We are going to be working with Copics and MFT Stamps. It should be a blast!
For today’s ABC Friday projects, I am showing off a project that I did using Clear Scraps coasters. You can see their site HERE. Alma {TCP’s owner} sent these to us {DT members} to play with. They are so much FUN {Thanks, Alma!!}! We first saw them at CHA and everyone oooooh’d and aaaaaaw’d at how cool they were. They are definitely in the top 3 neatest things that I saw there. I could swear I put them in a blog post since I had about 800 {maybe exaggerating there} pics of them, but I am now thinking I did not do a post with them because so many others did. Hmmm??
Anywhooooooooo….
Here is the project that I made using the trio of Clear Scraps coasters. Each of the coasters is 4×4. After I backed them with DP {Cosmo Cricket Little Girls Biography Collection} and did all my other altering, I attached them together using green satin ribbon. The top pic is the trio all together hanging on my door and the others are the detail shots.

Appletini Anyone?…

Posted by Jen | Bella, Ellie, Family, cards | Monday, April 14, 2008

Hope you all had a great weekend! I came down with what we commonly refer to as “the crud” around here on Saturday night…ugh! Fortunately before that, I got in a little stamping time and we went to Chuckee Cheese with some friends {in lieu of the duck pond bc it was a little chilly}.
First, I have to say that I am **so mad** {ha!} at Emily for continually adding new stuff to the Stamping Bella site. There is always new stuff to ogle at, wish for and eventually purchase. This image is named Springtini…cute, huh!?! I already had the fun sentiment from Inky Antics and I just think that they pair well together…don’t, you!?! In addition to those 2 companies, I also used the Paisley background from SU! and the Geometric Flowers II backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I used a real fun color “concoction” for this card…Cameo Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. The main image is stamped on watercolor paper and colored in with Copic markers. For my finishing touches, I paired a small punched flower with some Bella Baubles, and I topped off the photo corners with silver brads. I also used my small scallop scissors on the white cardstock to the left of the Pumpkin Pie cardstock to emulate the scallops on the main image panel. I have a feeling this stamp is going to be well loved!! I think that it would make darling bridal shower or girl’s night invites.
As I mentioned above, we went to Chuckee Cheese on Saturday. Ellie and her friend, Addison, had a BLAST! They were so darn cute together. They held hands almost the entire time…sometimes both hands at once. My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. Here are a few of the shots that we got of their extreme cuteness!!…

TCP Tuesdays Are Here…

Posted by Jen | Ellie, Family, The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Tuesday, April 1, 2008

Welcome to something new and fun!! Alma and the The Cat’s Pajamas‘ girls have started a weekly challenge. How it works:

1. Each a week one of the TCP DT members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {color, theme, etc.}
3. You will have until Saturday night to complete the challenge.
4. Link your project on that week’s hostess’ challenge announcement.

So, for this week, Toni is the challenge hostess. She has chosen to do a color challenge. The challenge is to use the TCP colors in your project {which can be anything!}. The colors are bright pink, yellow, black and white. You will need to complete you project by the end of Saturday to her post HERE.

You might be asking…

Q: Do I have to use TCP stamps?
A: While TCP stamps are not required, they are encouraged. We want to see what you do with them!

Q: Did I mention prizes?
A: There is going to be a monthly prize. I hope you like to shop!!

If you have any other ??s let me know and I will add them to this list.

Here is my card that I made using these colors. Can you believe it? I used Summer Sun TWO days in a row!!!!! I don’t think that I have even bothered to touch it in the last 6 months…maybe a year!

Grandmama and Papa brought Ellie a chocolate Easter bunny. These are a couple of the shots that I got from her chowing down on some bunny ears. CUTE!!

How Do You Glue? {dot com} and Ellie with Elmo…

Posted by Jen | ABC Friday, Ellie, Family, Glue, projects | Friday, March 28, 2008

Exciting News! I have been asked to be on the GLUE design team. I have admired their stuff for awhile now!! HERE is one project, a 3×3 album, that I have done in the past. I also have a 3-tiered cupcake stand that I have started to work on, but just can’t commit to using adhesive yet. My first official assignment was to alter a dress form to match my personality. Yikes! Which one would I choose? LOL! Just kidding!! I wanted something to reflect my taste…pretty, but casual. I love all the pretty trendy things {and all the bling that goes with them} that are out there, but I am a jeans and t-shirt gal through and through. So, I took a pair of old {a.k.a. my butt can’t fit in those anymore} jeans and traced and cut out the outline of the dress form. To adhere it, I used a thin layer of Mod Podge, as I did not want any to come through the fabric. From there, I create a skirt made of ribbon. I began with a satin piece and adhered organdy ribbon to the back with red line tape. The edges of the ribbon are cut into a “V” and a small acrylic flower that I topped with a Swarovski was attached with hot glue. For the base of the form, I gather Primas and adhered them with hot glue. The edge of the base is wrapped in May Arts ribbon and finished off with more bling bling {Swarovski crystals}. For the top, I added a drawer pull and added a necklace of glass beads. This was so much fun to make!! I’d love to make some more for some friends. I think I covered most of the details that may have been less than obvious. Let me know if you have any other questions about the project, and I will ETA them here.

Now onto Ellie with Elmo…

As you may know, Tony’s grandparents are here visiting. We are all getting spoiled, especially Ellie. Shocking, isn’t it? ;) Great Grandparents fly in from out of state and the lil’ one gets spoiled rotten. It’s quite cute to watch her with all her new goodies. Grandmama {yes, that’s spelled correctly} and Papa Jack gave her Tickle Me Elmo today. Here is a brief photo diary on how that went. Let me tell ya, she was a little less than impressed with all the giggling and gyrating that Elmo was doing!!!!! Then she warmed up to him…finally!

Opening the box {which makes sounds}

What the heck is that thing doing???? Notice Cooper is there for protection. Abby is obviously bored {yawning dog in the background}.
elmo2.jpg

Seriously Elmo, what the heck are you doing?
elmo3.jpg

No Elmo! You stay over there!!
elmo4.jpg
elmo5.jpg

Whoa Elmo!!!
elmo6.jpg

Ok, we can be friends, but be quiet already!
elmo7.jpg

Last, but not least {for sure!}. This is the look that Papa Jack got when he asked if he could see her new Elmo. I think that may translate into “Papa, you be crazy!” PRICELESS!
