When my husband became active in the army in 2001, my little comfortable world began to change. I gave up my job as a public relations director and got the family ready to move across the country. I decided that my children needed me more than ever because we were so far from our families, so I stayed at home and took up scrapbooking. I always loved doing artistic things and this was a great way to chronicle my three children as they grew (too fast!)

Last year, I went to a Stampin’ Up! party and after that, I was hooked.. Since then, I have been creating and designing and loving every minute of it! I am a concept designer for a few stamp companies and I also have my own line of stamps available through Gina K Designs. It has been a fun year!

Thanks so much, Jen, for allowing me to share some of my work.

Hi! My name is Beatriz Jennings, I was born in Mexico City , but I grew up In Guadalajara Mexico, I am an interior designer. I am married to Robert, he is all American and I am all MexicanJ, and we have a son Diego, he is just 2 years old, and we’ve been living in California for almost 2 years.

Since I was a Little girl I remember altering my notebooks, purses and other stuff. I’ve been scrapping/paper crafting/cardmaking For almost 1 ½ year, I never heard about scrapbooking ‘till I came to USA, I was looking one scrapbook magazine and I was thinking: “I want to do this”!! Right now I’m in love with cardmaking, I am a big fan of silk flowers and ribbon, as you can see in most of my creations I love big bows and flowers. Some of my work have been published on ezines like Scrapstreet & Ready, Set, Create, and also Magazines like Paper Trends and soon in Cards Magazine. Thanks to the scrapbooking and the galleries online I have found really talented people that inspired me and I have made lots of friends to. And of course thank you so much for the opportunity to share my work and a little bit of me.

My name is Bethann Silaika and I live in Rexford, NY (Upstate, just north of Albany). I am so excited that Jen asked me to be her Guest Designer this month!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart Todd for 14 years. We have 6 children {waits for people to get off the floor}. Yes, you read that right, six kids under the age of 10…Karen (9), Victoria (7), Isabella (5), Xavier (4), Sophia (2) and Genevieve (born July 19, 2007).
I stay at home with the kids and enjoy being a part time Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I am also a small business owner! After dabbling with Digital Scrapbooking and creating watermarks for friends of mine, I started a small graphic design company which I called Freckled Fun Designs. I am a self-taught designer – learning digital editing software over the past few years. I create blog banners, watermarks, business cards and advertisement banners for stampers and crafters all over the world! Pretty KEWL!
I started my love for the arts very early in life. I remember art classes from elementary and middle school with vivid details. During summer months, I could churn out God’s Eyes with tremendous volume! I made so many potholders (small and useless for actually preventing burns) that my parents could have funded my college education with the cloth strip hooks had ebay been in business back then.. In high school, I remember Mr. Kant teaching me about the art of ceramics. I was hooked on crafts! I was churning out ashtrays for my non-smoking parents (they had quit years before). I went to college and took art classes there, learning about form and function with drawing (pencil, chalks, charcoal). After college, I started working and took a break from crafting. I got married and did little projects here and there, decorative baskets, stenciling. The I had my first child and two years flew by without a crafty project.
My mom (who is my crafting inspiration) introduced me to stamping back in 1999. I started dabbling in paper and ink and other mediums. I would buy stuff at Michaels and try and create unique gifts and cards. My supplies grew over the years! Then I discovered Stampin’ Up! while looking at a 2Peas gallery (a card with the Autumn stamp set…which became my first SU! purchase). I stumbled upon Splitcoaststampers in the fall of 2004 and became an official member later that year. Over the years I have become an active member of SCS. I currently host the Sunday Challenge called Featured Stamper.
