It’s the start Sneaky Peek Week for The Cat’s Pajamas and we’re kicking it off with this fun Inspiration Challenge for TCP Tuesday…

186winter

There are so many things that you can take from these pictures. Color and texture are just a couple of things that come to mind. For this card, I took the overall wintery theme {and that wood button!!} and translated it into this card…

Whatcha’ think of the new bunny? It’s called SNOW DAYS and will be released next Tuesday along with LOTS more stamps, dies and new seam binding ribbon! Yep, I said dies, too! Did you notice the SNOWFLAKE LACE PAPER? It’s TCP’s innovative answer to the doily…much more fun and fresh, if you ask me! What’s even better is that you can actually use the snowflakes that are cut from the paper!…

Jingle, Jingle, Jingle…

Happy week until Turkey Day, friends! Today we are having a Thanksgiving feast with Nic at his “school.” I’m definitely looking forward to digging into some turkey and stuffing. As for the mashed potatoes from a box…not so much. I’m more of the real potato, real butter and real cream kind of mashed potato kind of girl…LOL! Either way, it will be fun to join Nic for his feast…no matter what is served.

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge is brought to you from Hipster Hostess, Leigh. She has this fun sketch for you to play with…

Here’s what I came up with using JINGLE BELLS from The Cat’s Pajamas

sketchcard

I love this image that’s part of the ouou illustration line at TCP!! I’ve found myself neglecting this line, so I’ve been trying to reach for them a little more lately. However, I won’t be playing with them next week since new product sneak peeks start on Tuesday {yippeeee!}.

Cute lil’ snowflake, right? More on that later {like Tuesday-ish!} ;) As for the heart, it’s from the Heart Trio CutUps die from TCP.

Love the sketch and want to play along? All of the details, along with the uploading link can be found HERE on Alma’s blog. Happy stamping and good luck!!

TCP Tuesday Challenge…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Saturday, November 12, 2011

Susan is declaring a FOOD FIGHT for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge! What in the world does that mean? When picking out your TCP stamps {and/or dies!} to work with this week, you need to be grabbing for ones involving FOOD. I actually went the route of drink with the idea that there might just be soup in his mug. Someone {removing names here…LOL!} piped in and said that sometimes she drinks her dinner, so this image definitely counts…

warmmyheart

The image and sentiment are from the Like You a Latte set from The Cat’s Pajamas. I added the Snowflake CutUps die embellished with Olive Seam Binding Ribbon, a button and Brown Sugar Baker’s Twine.

I am a huge fan of Echo Park papers and I just love the new Christmas lines, especially the Season’s Greetings 6×6 pad. The circle panel is cut from the snowflake pattern and then I embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder. I’m not sure if you can tell by the pics, but the cuffs of the boys jacket are flocked with white flocking powder…

Want to play along with this challenge? All of the challenge details, as well as the where you upload your creation can be found HERE on Alma’s/The TCP blog. Happy stamping and good luck!

Psst…don’t forget to mark your calendars for each Friday in November!

YNS #55…

Posted by Jen | Your Next Stamp, cards, challenges, just because | Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Happy Wednesday stampy friends! I still haven’t gotten used to the time change…am I the only one?? I swear, 7pm rolls around and it’s time to tuck me in! Or it may be the fact that I have bronchitis {again!}. Anyways, I got a laugh out of a quote I saw yesterday that said, “Only the government would cut a foot off of one end of a blanket, then sew it to the other end and call it longer.” Haha!!

Onto more creative endeavors…

Today, Your Next Stamp has a fun themed challenge for you: Friendship! Now, that’s a challenge I know that everyone can do! I made my card using a combination of Ellie Loves to Knit with the sentiment from Ellie Loves Sunflowers.

All of the challenge details can be found on the YNS BLOG, but don’t scoot over there just yet! Want a chance to win Ellie Loves to Knit? Well, here’s your chance…

Last month I played along with YNS as one of their guest designers. Today, they are officially announcing me as part of their DT…cool, right?! To celebrate Karen {head honcho at YNS} is offering up an Ellie loves to Knit to one random commenter that answers this question…

What {kinda specifically} do I have in common with YNS? And, no, I was not made in Canada!

Leave your answer in the comments section here and a winner will be drawn and announced next Wednesday on the YNS blog.

Happy first Saturday of the month, Sketch for You to Try {SFYTT} friends! Only two more sketches for the year! I am so excited for everyone that has been playing along each month for their chance at winning an AWESOME prize on Christmas Day! Will it be you?

I’m already working on the sketches for next year and lining up some great sponsors! There will be a few things changing, but for the most part you can expect another year of fun sketches to play along with!

I appreciate all of the SFYTT sponsors…THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I had a lot of fun playing Waltzing Mouse Stamps last month! This month brings another awesome sponsor, VERVE STAMPS, who is offering up a set of choice to a random participant playing along with their Verve…

Last month we were sans a Designer of the Month, but this month I was a *little* more on top of things…thank goodness! Please welcome BRONI HOLCOMBE as the November Designer of the Month!…

broni-holcombe-photo

A little about Broni in her own words…

I’m so honored to be Jen’s Guest Designer for November!
I’m a mother to 2 beautiful daughters, and a Nana to 3 young grandsons and an adorable granddaughter. I live in beautiful South Carolina where I’m an accountant by day for a major beverage distributor. I spend as much of my non-working time as possible in the paper-crafting world…either creating, or sharing and learning online.
I started stamping 6 years ago and was honored by being chosen as a member of the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen design team a short 2 years later. Coloring is my passion, and Copic markers are my “weapon” of choice.
When I’m not crafting (or online), you can find me playing with the grandchildren, kayaking, swimming or planning my next trip to the beach!

Isn’t her card A-DOR-ABLE using the To the Moon set…
