TCP Tuesday…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, challenges | Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Howdy and welcome to the 2nd TCP Tuesday challenge that I am posting this week. Fortunately, this one is actually on time {go me!}. Hopefully today won’t be a repeat of yesterday at all!! Our AC went out and I waited ALL DAY for the repairman only to find out that our neighbor owns his own HVAC biz and took about 20 minutes to fix the problem. Thank goodness because it was creeping over the 80 degree mark and I was NOT happy!!

Anywhooooo…

Leigh is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she is challenging you with this fabby sketch…

tcptues114_sketch

Instead of making mine into a card, I chose to do a large tag with Joyride and some October Afternoon and Pink Paislee paper…

This tag definitely has some height!…

I embossed the “road” with one of PTI’s impression plates and check out the bow behind the button. It’s some of the bestest twine/thread ever {it’s TCP’s Linen Thread}…

It’s **really** hard to tell, but I used one of my Sakura Glaze pens to create a chrome look on the gray parts of the Vespa…

You will find all the details on this challenge and how to get a chance to win $25 in Cat Cash to spend on the TCP site on LEIGH’s BLOG.

The Daddyman…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Monday, June 14, 2010

Monday greetings! I’m running a little bit behind on last week’s TCP Tuesday challenge {click HERE for the deets on Susan’s blogaroo} to use any of the TCP alphas. Nic ‘decided’ to come down with a lil’ virus last week that put him all sorts of moods. Needless to say, stamping time was at a minimum. He’s feeling better and taking a good nap now, so I got a chance to play…YAY!

This is the card that I made for Tony for Father’s Day with the TCP Coolvetica set. Ellie affectionately refers to him as “The Daddyman.” Kinda like the “Candyman” on Willy Wonka. It’s so cute to hear her talk about her “Daddyman.” I tried to keep it sweet and simple since it is for a guy, but I didn’t necessarily drive myself towards masculine colors, as you can see.

I popped up the heart to give it a little bit of dimension and distressed and sewed on the Kraft panel for some texture…

Psst…I got word that there’s gonna be another TCP release fairly soon. I’ll be sure to keep you posted with as much info as I’m allowed to give :) As for now, there’s some new twine in the store that is *divine* and you can see it HERE.

Darling Cute First Saturday of the Month…

Posted by Jen | Bella, SFYTT 2010, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, June 5, 2010

YAY! It’s the first Saturday of the month and oh boy, is a busy one here at the del Muro house. Gym, errands, breakfast with a friend, party and shopping are all on the agenda…whew! While that will all be fun, what I’m excited about here is introducing a new DESIGNER OF THE MONTH! Without further adieu, let me introduce…

ANDREA EWEN
aebiopict

A little about Andrea in her own words…
My name is Andrea Ewen and I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Guy. We have 2 beautiful children together, Troy is 12, Analise is 10 and they are the absolute lights of my life. I work full time as a pharmacist at the Jersey Shore in a quaint little “Mom ‘n Pop” pharmacy. When I’m not working or running to and from sporting/school events, I’m in my craft room working up a storm. I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! in 2002 when a girlfriend invited me to a party. Since that time, I’ve been hooked but just recently found the confidence in myself to post my creations online. I’m overwhelmed with the amount of encouragement and support this hobby’s enthusiasts have bestowed upon me and I’m so grateful for the wonderful gals out there who have graciously commented on my work. I am absolutely honored that Jen has chosen me for Designer of the Month; I think she and the other SFYTT ladies are fabulously talented artists. Thanks so much Jen!

Here’s my card using Stamping Bella stamps. I think Ellie might just like this one because yesterday when I was editing the pic on the computer she walked by and said, “Oh my gosh! That is darling cute!” WOW, did that make me feel all warm and fuzzy!…
