Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday, dear Wendy
Happy Birthday to You

Wendy Bond’s pals, including some of us from My Favorite Things DT are wishing her a very happy birthday today with a special birthday hop. If you happened upon my blog randomly, there is a master list on Karen’s blog HERE, which is also the start of the hop.

Wendy, I hope your day is sweet…

Being that I am on the MFT DT with her, I decided to use MFT products. I mean, it just seemed fitting :) I used a sentiment from the Polka Dot Greeting Die and Stamp Set Duo along with Hearts a Plenty, Simply Scallops {coming Tuesday!} and the Layered Label Die-Namics {oval}.

There’s a lot of girls on the list to wish her a happy birthday, so I won’t keep you here any longer with a bunch of jibber jabber! Keep on a hoppin’ along to Michele’s blog.

Verve-y Bingo Card…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Verve, projects | Wednesday, January 26, 2011

A little while ago, my friend Susan {affectionately known as SusSus “SoozSooz” to my little Ellie} came across a slew of vintage Bingo cards and tickets via Craig’s List. Being the sweet friend that she always is, she shared with me…LUCKY ME! I’ve been staring at the stack of goodies and wondering what to do with them. I’ve seen so many **really** good altered Bingo cards and projects using other vintage pieces, so I was a little intimidated on where to start. I knew I couldn’t just throw something cutesy together and call it done. So, where did I get inspired? Where didn’t I these days? All of the Valentine’s stuff that is floating around is just so eye catching and inspiring and I knew that Verve would be the perfect match to follow in this theme. So, here’s what I came up with…

If you will remember from my SSD post yesterday, I used some holiday paper and noted that I don’t separate my papers by holiday/season. I’m bringing that up again because the black and white paper that is on this Bingo card is from a Halloween collection {American Crafts}. Not too often that you can use Halloween paper on a Valentine project!!

As for the stamps, I used a couple of Verve sets here. The sentiment stamps are from Text Objects and the heart is from the new set, Love Notes. Being part of the Diva Inspiration Team for Verve is allowing me to dig out some of the older sets, which I have been missing! Love this! I have pulled out a whole stack to work with in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

TCP Tuesday ~ Lovey Dovey…

**SECOND POST OF THE DAY**

Happy Tuesday everyone! Tuesday has happened upon us again and, of course, that brings a new TCP Tuesday challenge. Susan is your Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she is bringing you a TCP stamp challenge…

Use any stamp from The Cat’s Pajamas that uses the word “heart” or “love”. Hmmmm…you say you don’t have any? What about creating it with one of the alpha sets?

Of course, I had to use one of the newer sets {aren’t they so darn cute!?!?} to create my sample for this week…

This might just be my favorite card that I have created with the new releases! I have to admit that it was a little bit of a labor of love. I had to get it just right! In the end, it was worth all the fussing about that I did. One of my favorite parts is on the bottom of the Kraft panel where I used a small circle punch to re-create the postage edge. So simple, but it made the card, I think!! The finishing touch was the new Airmail Divine Twine {heart.is.a.flutter.} on top of a felt heart from the Heart Trio CutUps die set…

Want to play along in this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge? Susan has all the deets for how to enter your card to win some Cat Cash {moolah for TCP goodies!}.

A HUGE thank you to The Cat’s Pajamas for being the sponsor of this month’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY! There are still a few more days to enter your creation!

Another Great Sketch and Blog Candy…

Posted by Jen | Skipping Stones Design, blog tarts, cards, challenges | Tuesday, January 25, 2011

It’s my final sketch as part of the Guest Design Team for Skipping Stones Design this month. Amy has come up with some wonderful sketches {and she has blown me away with what she has done with them!}. You can see this week’s sketch and her a-maaaaa-zing sample on her blog {where she is giving away an SSD set!}, as well as on the SSD blog.

Here is my card using the new set, Heartsong {which I also have one to give away…see details below}…

ssd4_jan

Hard to believe that the pattern papers on there are October Afternoon’s Campfire and My Mind’s Eye’s Holly Jolly…exactly why I don’t separate my paper by holidays or seasons!! The wrinkled ribbon is from etsy {a new obsession of mine…I just can’t stop looking at all the fun stuff!!} and I topped it off with a older Prima hydrangea {why don’t they sell these anymore!?!?}. I would have never thought to add a banner to a sketch {and I am sketch girl, ya know!!}, but I love that Amy did and I used the Grunge set from SSD instead of lettering or adorning it with other shapes. Topping it off with some pearls kept the elegant look flowing throughout. I kinda wish that I had some smaller pearls, but ya work with what ya got…right? Ok, so now I am on the hunt for some smaller ivory pearls. LOL!

Want to win this pretty set? I’ll send it along with this card to one commenter on this post. Winner will contacted on Friday. Happy stamping and good luck!

Little Boy Valentine Bear…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, The Cat's Pajamas, projects | Friday, January 21, 2011

I’m knee deep in making cute lil’ Valentine’s for Ellie’s classmates. They are so very pink, pink and pink with a splash of red and white. I love all the girly girly stuff, but there is a little man in the house that needs something cute, too! I recently go the new paper line, Little Boy, from Echo Park. It’s so very blue, green, brown and orange…not girly girl at all! It was perfect {IMHO}, to pair with the new set, Bear Hugs, from The Cat’s Pajamas.

I can’t believe that I was able use hearts {using the Heart Trio die} on this tag and still have it boy-ish…
