Heroes & a Winner…

Posted by Jen | Uncategorized | Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Wednesday greetings! Thanks to everyone for your great music suggestions yesterday! I love the stuff that you all came up with!

I’m back with another Skipping Stones Design sketch and this is your second stop along the SSD blog hop. Be sure you start out on the SSD blog and when you are done here, you will hop on over to the talented Erin Grotegut’s blog

ssdsketch3

Here’s my take on the sketch using the new set, Home of the Brave. I wanted to make a more masculine card, so it’s a little plainer than my usual style, but it works for a “guy card.”…

The winner of the Funny Bras Vol. #2 from last week’s comments is…

MICHELE

Michele, just shoot me over an email {link under pic on the left} and I will get that super fun set off to you!!

Now hop on over to Erin’s blog to see the goodness she has for you to take a peek at! ;)

Weight Loss Update & TCP Tuesday…

Posted by Jen | The Cat's Pajamas, cards, challenges | Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Are you ready for summer? I’m getting there! I am looking forward to days by the pool and fun with friends and family. I don’t think my body is quite the beach body that I am working for, but so far I am down 14 pounds since I started eating right {not dieting!} and working out {like a mad woman!}. Tuesdays are my double duty days at the gym. Yep, that’s right, I go twice on Tuesdays and I workout just as hard at each session. I have changed my goals a little so that I will lose more weight and I am about 19 pounds away from my goal. When I reach my goal I will re-evaluate and see if I want to maintain or set another goal. I want to be sure that it’s realistic for me. I know that the Jillian Michael’s types would tell me that if I wanted it to be realistic/a reality I could make it that way. However, I know me and I know that there is a difference between what I can reach and what I can maintain. I’m looking for some new/good tunes to load on the iPod to get me going. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. What’s on there right now? Here’s a small sampling…

Gym Class Heroes
Black Eyed Peas
Pink
Eminem
50cent
and even {I should be embarrassed about this} a Miley Cyrus song {Party in the USA}

Ok, so let’s get onto TCP Tuesday! This week’s challenge is brought to you by the talented Toni Armstrong. It’s and inspiration challenge and this one will definitely get you “Thinking Summer.”

sfytt051510

My sample is INVISIBLE! I bet you didn’t know I had such super powers! The truth is that I did make a sample. I then threw it away and made another. I then threw that one away and started on another when I realized just how ticked I was and set everything aside until I can be happy with this sketch. I know that one of you sweet ladies is going to pipe up and say that what I threw in the trash was possible very nice. Believe me, it sucked. On many levels!! LOL!! I will give it another go soon, tho!

It’s quite obvious that Iwona “Chupa” did not have any problems and created this STUNNER {wow, wow and more wow}…

Copic Storage…

Posted by Jen | product finds | Friday, May 14, 2010

Wow, 5 posts this week! This used to be my “norm,” now I have to say that I am impressed with myself! LOL! I am glad to be back in a little bit of a groove. I won’t be posting this much all the time, but hopefully it is the beginning of getting back into it.

I don’t have a project to show you today, but rather a cool product. Tami, of Studio 3 Solutions, introduced me to these AWESOME cubbies. I had my Copics in another container, but quickly switched them to these space saving cubbies.

This is the pic from their site of a single cubbie…

Here are 3 {of my 4} set up on my craft desk. I love that they don’t take up a whole lot of room!…

I wanted to show you how a couple of these are shipped, too. The box was actually damaged by UPS, but my cubbies were safe inside. I have had a few orders, from other companies, that have not arrived so soundly so I thought that this was important to share…

Here is more about the Color Cubbies from the Studio 3 Solutions site

Each Color Cubbie holds 120 Copic sketch syle markers with 24 markers on each shelf. The shelves of the Color Cubbie are angled so you can easily see the name of each marker (Copic Sketch style) and the angled shelves allow you to pull a marker out from anywhere on the shelf without the other markers falling out.
The Color Cubbie measures 4 5/16″ W x 14″ H x 5 1/2″ D and comes in white. The interior, exterior and the shelves of the Cubbie are made of 1/4″ wood that is coated with a durable vinyl finish. The face of the Cubbie and shelves are painted with a vinyl based enamel paint. The Cubbies can easily be dusted or wiped clean with a dry or damp cloth.
The Color Cubbie will also accommodate a variety of other coloring mediums, such as Copic Ciao Markers, Stampin’ Up! markers, Prismacolor Pencils, gel pens, etc.

Impressive Impress…

Do you remember the card I entered in the “Go Green” Impress Rubber Stamps contest? Well, if not let me show ya again…

impress_green_thankscard

I won the contest {thank YOU for voting!!} and got a VERY FABBY prize package…ink and stamps {lots of both!!}. I have been a fan of Impress for a LONG time, so it was no surprise that I fell head over heals for their new products. Here’s a little shot at their pigment ink…

Notice the stamps in the background? Those are some of their newest rubber stamps. I forgot how much I loved stamping with a wood block! I have used these images along with their ink and have gotten beautiful results. I love how the impression is clear and not mottled or smudgy, both common problems with stamping with large images and sometimes with pigment inks. Here are a couple shots of cards that I did for Teacher Appreciation Week…

These cards were done in mass production form and it was super easy! I am such a “color-er,” but I love that I got the chance to put the ink to the paper and move on to the next one. I can’t even imagine having to color 20 of these in a row…eeek! I will most certainly be coloring the outline image and this image, called Climbing Blooms…

You can find all the GORGEOUS colors of Fresh Ink HERE and all their newest stamps HERE. Happy Impress shopping!!
