Pretty Fabric Flowers…
Ok, I gotta give another weight loss update because I am pretty darn happy this morning…
Since about March 25th {can’t remember exact date}, I am down 16 pounds. Since January 6 {the day Nic was born} I am down 40 pounds. My goal is 17 more to lose and I hope to do that by my birthday in August, especially since we are planning some lake time around then!
You may have seen this project on the Verve Blog the other day, but I wanted to post it here, too. This month’s theme for the Verve Project Parade is SIZZLIN’ SUMMER FUN! I made a tag that has a detachable flower pin that someone can use for a brooch or to put on their purse, beach bag, necklace or they can even attach it to a hair band. I’ve seen a lot of these type of flowers on different blogs and magazines for the past several weeks, so I thought I would give it a go. I went to YouTube and searched “Fabric Flowers” and came up with a couple tutorials that helped me to create my project. Here are those tutorial links…
FABRIC FLOWER TUTORIAL #1
FABRIC FLOWER TUTORIAL #2
The sentiment and clear embossed wave are from the HAPPY DAYS set…
Here are a few more shots of the flower that I cut from fabric {purchased at Hancock Fabrics} with my scallop circle Nestabilities…
Sorry about the watermark right over the center. I saved the pic before I moved it. The center has green felt from FELT ON THE FLY {Etsy} and a Sparkler from Webster’s Pages…

The pin is attached to the felt using Zip Dry. For the backing, I just used felt from Michael’s. I am saving the Merino wool felt for parts that you can actually see ![]()

These are pretty addicting when you start making them! I’ve already made a few more and have some more fun ideas that I will be posting here soon {hopefully!}. Have a great day!!
