Happy Thanksgiving…

Posted by Jen | Holidays, Verve, cards | Wednesday, November 26, 2008

I know that I am posting this the day before before Turkey Day, and I’ll go ahead and let you know that it’s gonna be here on Friday, too. This is just about my favorite card that I have ever done with a Verve set. Not only do I love the outcome, but I had a great time making it. Ellie sat on my lap practically the whole the time. She loved holding the markers that I am not using and telling me what colors they are. Every now and then I had to tell her to “freeze” while I get near the edges while I am coloring. Here is what “we” came up with…

Detail shot…

Happy Thanksgiving Card
Stamps: Tall Oaks (Verve Stamps)
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko); Markers (Copic); Chocolate Chip (Stampin’ Up!)
Paper: Pattern Paper, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Kraft (Stampin’ Up!)
Other: Sewing Machine/Thread’; Nestabilities Dies (Spellbinders); Ornate Punch (Paper Studio); Dimensionals; Ribbon (May Arts); Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Provo Craft); Brads (Making Memories); Scallop Edge Punch (Stampin’ Up!); Sponge

Jen this card is great!! I love your story about Ellie. My son sits with me a lot and says “cool momma, cool momma” everytime I use a punch or cool my image!! I make him not touch the table when I’m coloring!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

This is a very lovely card. It is even better because you have a special memory to share with your daughter. Gosh my kiddies wouldn’t sit still long enough to make a card with me.

    Have a GREAT Thanksgiving.

What a nice memory to share….Ellie really is growing up isn’t she? They DO love to help and will continue to do so unless they are discouraged. I did that with my first daughter and boy did I learn my lesson….I did not make that mistake with the other 3, thankfully. I love the card…..so simple and so elegant.
