MFTeaser and Blog Tart…

It’s that time of the month again…no, not that! It’s time for My Favorite Things‘ new release sneak peeks, or as we like to call them: MFTeasers. On Wednesday MFT will be releasing a handful of new sets, including 2 new Halloween sets…YAY! I think I have said this before, but Halloween is not my favorite holiday for celebrating, but I love all the decor and crafting that goes along with it! On Saturday I showed you two of the stamps that are in the new MONSTER SQUAD set. Today I am showing you the other two stamps AND giving you a chance to win the set!!

HOW DO I WIN? Leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite Halloween costume was when you were a kid. I will announce a winner on Wednesday morning. I think I was either 5 or 6 when I had a plastic CareBear costume. I LOVED that thing! I laugh each time I come across those pictures. That year my best friend was Wonder Woman, so we were quite the pair!

Here’s the squad…

Good luck and hope to see you at the release party on Wednesday night from 9-11 EST in the MFT forum on SCS!

I have to say, those are some cute stamps! I’m just recently diving back into my stamping, and cannot wait to get some new stamps. I have to say, my favorite costume when I was little, had to be the time my mom forgot about my costume. She threw a costume together for me, and guess what, I was a bag of groceries! She cut out leg holes for me, then we added empty egg carton, an empty cereal box, empty milk and OJ box. I was too young to be embarrassed! Thanks for the great blog, I’m addicted!!

I was probably older than 5 or 6, but my grandma and aunt made me a pink carebear costume–the one with the rainbow on the stomach. I loved it, and even wore it for multiple Halloweens. The best part was the giant head, and my face stuck out where the mouth was. It was great!

Such cute stamps!!! Love your card! My favorite costume (looking back now) was a Wonder Woman costume my mom made for me. She did the whole thing by hand… even sewed on every star and made the special wristbands. But I was 8 or 9, so I needed straps to hold the thing up. Well, the “Real” Wonder Woman’s outfit didn’t have straps, and I hated that my mom made me wear the straps. Oh, I was such a witch about it! Later I knew to feel special because she spent so much time on it, but I definitely owe her about a thousand apologies for how I acted. Sorry mom!

I love this card, those stamps are a MUST have. I remember being casper one year, but I loved being a clown. I think I wore that costume for years. It never got old.!

I really enjoy your blog, It’s in my reader so, I can see all your great creations.

  5. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:14 amMary

I just adore those stamps! I’m recently diving BACK into stamping, and I am enjoying every minute of it!

My most memorable Halloween costume was when my mother forgot to make me a costume. She threw something together right before the party and guess waht I went as?? A bag of groceries!! She cut holes for my legs in a brown paper grocery bag, and shoved in an empty box of cereal, an empty carton of eggs, and empy milk carton and an empty OJ carton. I think I was too young to be embarrased, all I know was it was really difficult to play on the playset!

  6. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:19 amMandy

My favorite Halloween costume was Rainbow Brite when I was 4 or 5. My entire room was decorated with Rainbow Brite - from the bedspread to the trash can!

  7. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:26 amEve

I TO was Wonder Woman. We must all be the same age!
I do remember those masks that you wore over your face that were SO hot and smelled funny. You could barely see or breathe. And your face would sweat like crazy….. I also had the Wonder Woman under-roos!

As a kid with three other siblings, we never went out to the store to buy new costumes. My grandmother had given my parents a box of all the old costumes that she had used for her kids. (including my dad)
Each year we would scour through the box and decide what to wear. I think my favorite was a little Indian costume that was brown suede with fringe. It even had little beads and baubles dangling from the fringe in spots. I had longer hair then and would braid my hair like a little Indian girl. Ah the memories.

    What a CUTE set! I LOVE halloween sets! My all time fav costume was my homemade punk rocker outfit! Do you remember the whole Madonna, fish net stockings….teased hair…lacy gloves era?!? Loved it! LOL Thanks for the chance! {sMILES}

  10. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:29 amChelle

My favorite halloween costume was probably when I was a white crayola crayon in Jr. High, because I made the outfit myself. I tried to recreate the logo the best I could (on bristol board), and spent an evening coloring it in. I wore leggings & a white tshirt, and a white bristol cone on my head.

    Love that spider card!!

  11. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:33 amJana

This set is SOOO cute - I know I will have to have it since I love halloween!!! My favorite costume when I was a kid was when I dressed up as Smurfette by wearing a white dress, blue tights and glue socks on my arms, with my face painted blue and yellow yarn hair. It was quite funny!

  12. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:34 amTammy M

What an adorable stamp set!!! Love the little bunny costume:). One of the favorite costumes I had was a witch costume my mom made me. She got me this cool mask, wig and hat to go with it. No one knew who I was:). Which was a feat in itself, as there was only a total of 21 kids in my whole class……

Thanks for the chance to win this set!!
    Tammy M

  13. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:34 amDani

Oh my word, what a cute card!
My fav costume would have to be my Smurf costume! You know the kind, plastic mask, cheesy polyester jumpsuit! Yep, loved it!

  14. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:38 amTracy

Halloween has never been a hugh event in my house either. Although now that I have two little pumpkins of my own it is more of an event now. ;0) I don’t really remember many costumes of mine…although the one I do remember was my mom and I went to a church halloween family party one year and she was Little Miss Muffet and I was the spider. She had made these hugh legs made with nylons stuffed with newspaper and spraypainted black. I just remember having to take the legs off when I sat down cause it was a little ackward!

    Love the card! :0)

  15. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:38 amjackie (strappystamper)

Your card is adorable…I just love these new stamps!

My favorite Halloween costume was when I dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz…I think I was 6. I even carried a basket with a stuffed dog. Oh, the memories!!!

  16. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:39 amDani

That’s easy! I’m a redhead, so I dressed as Pippi Longstockings. I had really long hair, so I braided it in two braids. Then I took an unfolded wire coat hanger and wove it through so the braids would stick straight out to the sides. I wore denim overalls and some funky red and white striped socks. It was the best!

  17. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:39 amKendra

Love that stamp set! I kind of reminds of the the Lost Boys from Peter Pan.

My favorite Halloween costume was the year I went as a Mime. It was such a simple all black costume but the start white face and getting to act out silly stuff all day (& night) was tons of fun.

  18. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:40 amSarah

Oh!! I love it! Such a cute stamp– I’m sure the other ones are just as cute!!
My favorite costume was when I was a box of Chinese food. I got soo many comments on the costume- it was great! Best costume hands down!

  19. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:52 amCheryl Sims

I know this sounds crazy but I never dressed up for Halloween. We lived in the country so I never could trick or treat. Sorry I couldn’t share!!! These stamps are adorable.

My favorite Halloween costume as a kid was a clown. Cute polka dot outfit, curly rainbow wig, etc. I think every kid in my family (including cousins) used that outfit at some point. :) As a teacher, I still dress up every year.

  21. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:56 amLeigh Ann Baird

One year, my cousin and I thought we were too old to trick or treat(we were not too old) and decided we would be mature and stay home. My mother took my little brother out and left me at home with an older sibling. Well, we decided we wanted to go trick or treating and since we didn’t have a costume we decided to raid my big sister’s closet–she’s 10 years older than me and had prom dresses! So we went through her stuff and decided we would dress up like prostitutes aka streetwalkers. So, we went door to door in prom clothes that were way too big for us.

I look back now and belly laugh because we really didn’t know what a prostitue did for a living.

  22. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:59 amChristi

Your card is super cute!! I think I was about 8 years old and my aunt made me a Lydia Deets costume from the cartoon Beetlejuice. Do you remember that cartoon? LOL I think I won most creative constume at school and loved how my mom did my makeup. Everytime I see those pics I just smile. Good times…

  23. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:01 amMary (Happy Now)

I’m with you — not a big Halloween celebrate-er, but those stamps are C-U-T-E!

Not a lot of past Halloween costume memories coming to mind either… I am sure I was a witch for SEVERAL years, but I do recall a particularly humorous ‘tomato’ costume… We’ll go with that!

    Thanks!

  24. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:04 amStephanie Hargis

Hmmm…my favorite was this little pumpkin costume that my mom dressed me up in! I always got my face painted and I thought it was so cool! :D

  25. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:07 amJenn Billigns

When I was a kid, I LOVED being a 50’s soda pop girl. My grandma would make me a poodle skirt and I would wear a scarf in my hair! I had so much fun!

  26. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:08 amJessica

When I was in the first grade, I was Raggedy Anne. My mom’s best friend had a son who was my age so he was Raggedy Andy. I have to say that we were pretty darn cute!!!

  27. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:16 amTilda

That is a darn cute stampset! I am like you, love the decorations and stuff but not the holiday!

My favorite costume growing up ….My Mom had made a skirt from the 1950’s with the poodle on it….well my eldest sister got to wear it for 2 years, then my next sister wore it for 2 years and then FINALLY I got to wear it…..it was like getting that golden ticket! “I got to wear “the” skirt!” LOL!!! To funny….that was my favorite costume!

  28. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:18 amLinda E

My favorite childhood Halloween costume was the airplane costume I made when I was 10 or 11. I cut wings out of poster board and put string on them to attach them to my arms. THen I made a cone shape thingie and put a propeller on that. It was rudimentary but it was the first costume I ever made. Thankfully my costume-making skills improved by the time I made costumes for my children!

  29. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:20 ampegg

Love these teasers! My favorite costume growing up was my Superwoman costume! Unfortunately my Mom did not make me costumes when I was growing up, so it was store bought. I still loved it though!

  30. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:22 amKris Reynolds

My favorite costume was when I was 3rd grade I was an Ewok! From Star Wars. this was like 1986 or so. I was the grey girl ewok with the pink hood. It was fur{faux} and stifling HOT! But I adored it and even though I hate Halloween now, {we dont even celebrate it, we just go to this big party our church puts on every year.}I will always remember that year.

  31. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:24 amKarolyn L.

Okay, we didn’t really get Halloween costumes when I was a kid - we just wore whatever we could find out of our mom’s closet. But I will tell you my favorite costume that MY kids wore. When my oldest daughter was 5, I made her a pink and purple taffeta unicorn costume. It turned out sooo dang cute, and she loved it so much that she wore it the next year, too. And my youngest DD wanted to wear it 5 years later.

Love your card, and those little trick or treaters are too cute for words. Can’t wait to see the rest of the images!

  32. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:24 amDonna Baker

what a cute set! I love that they have faces! HA. I think my favorite was dressing as a baby, I wore my feet pj’s, carried around a bottle, blanket, stuffed animal.

  33. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:07 amMelanie Muenchinger

really cute, the decorating is the best part, I agree!!

My fave was a little indian princess costume my mom made me when I was probably five, her own pattern, it was this cool faux suede she bought and cut at the botom and arms for fringe, colorful trim, and of course a little feathered headddress and homemade moccasins…

  34. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:10 amMichele H

I love the card! Very cute, yet simple!! I’m thinking I’ll have to get this set, love halloween stamps. As for my favorite halloween costume, I think it would have to be a ragged ann one my mom made me. She even made me a wig of red hair using red yarn! Yup, I still think I have that somewhere! Thanks for sharing your work, it’s always great!

  35. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:14 amDeb N

My favority was probably the year I was a clown. My mom made the entire outfit..costume, hat with yarn hair, shoe covers, etc. I walked around trick or treating with our pet bird. People kept wondering if it was real..it was. ;)

I just remember how much I loved that costume since my mom made it.

I am SO in love with all the sneak peaks from this month’s MFT releases. I’m in trouble (or at least my wallet it!).

  36. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:20 amPatty J

Love the MFT stamps - so original and cute!
Uhhhh, we didn’t have fancy costumes as kids, just whatever we could throw together. Now I indulge my childhood wishes and get my kids costumes they love to wear.

  37. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:39 amkim lenhart

When I was like 4 my Mom made me a little clown outfit, with big red yarn pompoms on the front, and some rick rack around the arms and legs…and a polka dot ruffled neck…and a cone hat to match!! I loved that thing and ended up making one for my son when he was smaller…
    now, I don’t like clowns!!

  38. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:42 amMaria Matter

Great card, what a sweet stamp set!!!

My favorite costume had to be Bugs Bunny! We always had homemade costumes and they were great! Bugs was probably one of the first store bought costumes I had and I remember the excitement of that!
    Blessings!

  39. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:42 amtrudelmj

So cute, I love those little costumes!

  40. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:52 amJennifer R

My favorite was a plain cat costume that my mom made for me
She cut the thing out with a pattern and sewed it right up
and AND, it had a tail!!!

I love that thing and I even wanted to wear it when it wasn’t Halloween!

  41. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:53 amSusan G

I don’t remember Halloween costumes as a child, but my favorite one that my sons had were Casper the Friendly Ghost. I found a picture of them not long ago and it brought back nice memories of when they were that little. Since I don’t have any stamps for this theme, maybe I’ll be the lucky winner this time.

  42. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:07 amAlyssa

How cute is that little Monster squad?!? I had a Smurfette costume that was my absolute favorite. That and a clown costume that my mom let my brother and I dress up in whenever we wanted to. That was pretty fun! Thanks for the chance! :o)

  43. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:12 amteresa chapman

My most favorite costume was when the halloween that I was 10 or so. My sister, my cousins and I cut and sewed burlap grain bags from my grandparents farm into mini skirts, vests, and head bands. We decorated them and dressed as ‘hippie’s’. I remember how they smelled like grain - musty - yuck! But we thought we were so cool!

Thanks for taking me on a trip now memory lane! I’m so anxious to get my hands on these news sets!

    Teresa

  44. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:12 amTracy

    Those stamps are adorable!!

I never got to dress up as anything good when I was little. A witch was about as creative as it got for me. But as an adult my fav was Padme Amidala and hubby was Obi Wan Kenobi.

  45. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:18 amPatti Chesky

My favorite costume was a homemade witch costume my mom made for me when I was seven. I still have it and treasure it!!!

I love your blog!!!! Thanks for this blog candy opportunity!!!

  46. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:19 amSuzy T

What a cool question, Jen! The most vivid Halloween costume that I remember is the plastic mask for Casper the Friendly Ghost, complete with the white sheet. Another one that I remember is the plastic Cinderella mask, too.

    Love your card!

  47. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:21 amJulie C.

While I don’t remember it….when I was little my mom made a clown costume for me from a sheet complete with the big frilly collar. I love the pictures she has of me in it and I wish I had her talent for sewing!!!

  48. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:28 amSusan S

I just love those little monsters!!! My favorite costume was when I was 6 I was a bag of jelly beans. I wore a big clear garbage bag with lots of colored balloons inside!! It was so bright and cheery, I could not sit down though!!!

  49. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:30 amDawn Marie Schulte

I liked being a witch with a plastic nose with a wart on it, pointy hat, and carrying a broom. I also liked being raggedy ann and wonder woman!LOL Thanks for the chance! Love your card!

  50. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:44 amtracey aka cuccicoo1002

What an adorable card!! It’s funny - I wasn never really into getting dressed up or the whole Halloween thing, but now, even more so since I have children of my own, I love it, and we go all out decorating and such…

My favorite costume as a kid (I wasn’t really into it, but I still did it, KWIM?) Was probably the year I dressed up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz…Mom helped me piece the costume together, complete with ruby red slippers…what fun!

  51. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:51 amMargaret

WOWZERS!!!…at my age (55) I’ve really got to think back. Good question!!! Well…let me think…

…when I was growing up, we lived on a farm, in Manteca, nothern CA. We didn’t wear bought costumes at Halloween. We made our own, from what we had around the house. One Halloween, I remember, I was a Brown Grocery Bag. (I wanted to be an old lady, but my sister beat me to the clothes.) On my Brown bag I drew pictures of different food items (milk, bread, sugar, etc.). For my candy bag, it was my pillow case.

  52. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:59 amValerie

What a creative question…..It really makes you revisit your childhood. Mine was a witch. In fact it was sooo much my favorite that I wore a different witch costume every year. two years ago I persuded my daughter to be a witch. I went all out and bought her the striped stockings, a broom ……the whoe nine yards. It was fabulous until……………..I got a call from school requesting I bring a different costume because the school didn’t feel it was appropriate. I got to school with a backup costume in hand. Madison (DD) was in tears because she was embarrassed and she didn’t appreciate the clown costume I brought as replacement.

  53. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:07 pmJenny Mick

Love that stamp with the kiddos in costume! Super cute!!

I think my favorite costume ever was a clown costume that my mom hand made for me when I was about 6! I thought it was the coolest costume ever!!

  54. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:09 pmVal Pass

Really cute stamps. They would be great for my grandkids. When I was a kid we just threw together costumes from things we had at home. I think I was a scare crow or farmer a lot!

  55. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:24 pmLori Tommerup

I just recently found your website and I’m really enjoying it. I’m a new Stamping Up demo and am learning alot. As for my favorite costume I would have to say it was an alien costume that my friend and I made. We wipped it up one Halloween night and I have to say we didn’t really think about how cold it was that night. It ws fun and looking back at pictures makes me laugh.

  56. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:26 pmAngela

Love your Halloween card—all the white looks great!
My favorite costume would have to be the “witch”. Usually we would just have to dress up in something we found around the house—so it was fun to have a “real” costume!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  57. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:33 pmMary Jane D.

Such a cute stamp set! My favorite costume was a bunny costume that my aunt made me when I was about 5. I still laugh when I see the pictures of me hopping (I’m blurry in the picture) with my orange pumpkin basket. Thanks for reminding me of a fun memory.

  58. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:41 pmSandy

Love the card — guess it will soon be that time again. Love the set.
I also am from the era of nothing store bought, all home made. My favorite was the time my mom made me into a light bulb. Not sure what she used other than a bunch of coat hangers to make the round part but I thought it was the coolest ’cause noone else had anything like it. Then also was the year I went as a sack of potatoes — with a real potato sack, logo and all, and she made my head look like a bunch of potatoes sticking out. Great times!

  59. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:51 pmemily

    Hey Jen,
These are cute stamps. I’m off to see the rest of the DT Stuff.
Anyway… my fav costume was a cat costume. I was for or 5…. I had little ears, painted nose, and a long tail. LOVE IT! have a pic somewhere.

    anywhoooooooooo later tater.

  60. on 04 Aug 2008 at 12:52 pmDanni

Love what you did with this set on your card!
My favorite costume would have to be when I was about 8 or 9 and my mom crocheted me a black tail and ears and I went as a cat. At the time I didn’t think that much of it, but now I think “wow, she did all that for me”.

  61. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:01 pmDenise Morgans

I love this set, it it so adorable. Unfortunately in the UK Halloween isn’t such a big deal as it is in the USA. If I ever did dress up it was only as a witch or ghost etc. Have a great day. Lots of love, Denise x

  62. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:07 pmLinda

These stamps are just da bomb! too cute! My costume had to be a princess.

  63. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:16 pmChelle

adorable!! my favorite halloween costume was shirley temple…my mom did my hair with rag curls into perfect ringlets and my white dress with red polka dots was adorable that she made for me…loved it!!

  64. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:20 pmJulie Campbell

OH MY GOSH! This is just the cutest image ever! My most memorable halloween costume was when my mom wrapped me up in tin foil, gave me a pizza pan to hold, and told me I was Joan of Arc. I look back at pictures and have to wonder if she hated me. LOL! ;)

  65. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:21 pmDaisy

What a great card! That new set looks so cute! My fav halloween costume was a Indian princess when I was about 6. My mom sewed the costume, made a long wig out of black yarn (my hair was short!) and sent me out with an authentic basket (its about 100 years old and I shudder now to think how casually I used it).

  66. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:33 pmKim L.

We didn’t have that many costumes when i was growing up - we had about 3 that we recycled year after year between my sister and I. Two were princess costumes and one was a ghost - nothing too spectacular! But I’d have to say that being a princess is so much more fun than being a ghost! :-)

  67. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:33 pmJoAnne Eresh

Memories–I am 60 years old and when I was maybe 7 or 8, my mom found a pattern for a costume of a court jester in a woman’s magazine. First she had to make the pattern by getting some big brown wrapping paper–I think she got it from our grocer–and drew the right proportional grid on it so that she could enlarge the tiny little scale one provided in the magazine. Then she sewed it, using multiple colors and fabrics that she had in the house. My favorite part were the covers for my shoes, with big curly toes with bells on the tips. It was very special and she was as proud of it as I was. I always made my own daughter’s costumes when she was a child, hoping to give her the same kind of memories that I had of this kind of special gift.

  68. on 04 Aug 2008 at 1:34 pmMelissaS

Such a cute card! I love all the images in this set :) Thanks for sharing. When I was 6 or 7, I had a Bozo the Clown costume that I really liked. I think I wore it for one or even two years! Looking back, I don’t know what the fascination was…

  69. on 04 Aug 2008 at 2:02 pmCindy Vernon

How cute! We always made our costumes, I was a hobo many years - does anyone even know what a hobo is, nowadays? I used my dad’s pants and old workshirt, painted my face and stuffed my shirt with a pillow, it was loads of fun!

  70. on 04 Aug 2008 at 2:14 pmDebby

I think my favorite was one I made myself. I went as a Hippie one year. The beads a necklace with the peace sign on it, bell bottom pants and band around my head. I got all decked out.
    Angel hugs

I loved the cowgirl outfit I had when I was five! I think the vest and skirt were red. There was a hat and a holster with a cap gun too!

  72. on 04 Aug 2008 at 3:12 pmEllie Augustin

OHH brings back smiles to my face.. I was 7 and I was the ULTIMATE Wonder woman! my mom did big curls in my hair and I had the gold cuffs and laso and my crown NOBODY could tell me otherwise I WAS WONDER WOMAN!!!.. I remember doing the spin and “fighting Crime (my brother! LOL..) Ohhh gosh.. THAT WAS THE BEST!! :)

  73. on 04 Aug 2008 at 3:13 pmDana

Such cute stamps! I love Halloween decorating and all the costume planning! I can’t remember a favorite costume growing up…my friend and I dressed up as a couple of old ladies one year, complete with canes and old purses to collect our candy in. I love working on costumes for my kids…even though they ask, “can’t we just buy one this year??” : ) Dana

Hi Jen … when I was younger we really didn’t dress up and go trick or treating as I’m English! BUT since we moved to America we go the whole hog! My fave costume was a furry Panda all-in-one I bought our first year here (2001) for my 6 year old daughter. She looked so cute in it, her first ever ‘dressing up’ Halloween!

  75. on 04 Aug 2008 at 3:42 pmMichelle (mybelle101)

Hi Jen! I’m not much one for celebrating Halloween, either, but I do love the cute cards and crafts to be made for it!! I do enjoy dressing up my boys for our church’s harvest festival, though :)

My favorite costume when I was little(ish) was a flapper costume that my mom made for me. It had all this great, 4 or 5″ long fringe along the bottom that I loved to swish around, and was made of SUPER itchy red sparkly fabric…which didn’t bug me at all because I thought I looked so cool ;)

  76. on 04 Aug 2008 at 3:46 pmMichele F

My favorite costume was from when I was 7, it was a plastic Jaime Somers, The Bionic Woman costume with a mask!! It was so funny now that I look back on it. The even funnier part is that I am not even close to being a blonde. But like everyone else in the country, I watched the show every week and pretended to have her bionic strength and hearing. It was the best!!!

Thanks for bringing back some fun memories and for the chance to win. Michele

  77. on 04 Aug 2008 at 4:03 pmMichelle Adams

I had an Ewok mask from the Star Wars movie and I ran around with it on even when it wasn’t Halloween! Then my kid sister and brother did the same thing. It is so many years later and we STILL have that mask! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win!

    too cute!

My costume i remember most was when I was 10-11 and thought I knew how to sew, since i had watched my mom for many hours and so I made a clown outfit,(with mom’s help) and it had so many patches that were probably so CROOKED, but some how my mom made it into a jumpsuit for me. I thought everyone was laughing cause I was a clown, but now I realize they were laughing because i obviously looked really silly in that crooked patchwork of a clownsuit!!!

  79. on 04 Aug 2008 at 4:21 pmMichelle B aka JustPaintingAround

Ooooh, I love Halloween!! My favorite costume as a kid was to be a gypsy. It was a once a year chance to wear my mom’s big earrings!

  80. on 04 Aug 2008 at 4:44 pmjules p

Oh..my favorite was when I dressed up like an old lady. Hunched back and all! :)

Now I don’t ahve to dress up. ;)

  81. on 04 Aug 2008 at 4:51 pmJanean Campbell

I think that my favorite halloween costume I had growing up was a raggedy anne costume my mother made for me when I was about 7. It was so cute…She even made a red yarn wig…Adorable.

  82. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:10 pmKrissy F

I was probably in 5th grade when my Mom made me a red Crayola costume. I wore a red turtleneck and slacks and then Mom fashioned a crayon out of red poster board (BTW I have red hair to complete the look). My Grampa used to write me poems for holidays and that year wrote “Kris had a costume that wouldn’t bend, it sure looked like the living end. She couldn’t sit could hardly walk, so all she did was eat and talk!” Thirty years later I still think of that poem every time I see a red crayon!

  83. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:11 pmJulie K

    Such cute stamps!
About 100 years ago ;) my favorite costume was Little Orphan Annie…it was probably the first costume I had ever had. Yippee Halloween!!

  84. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:21 pmAngela R.

omword, how sweet are these little kiddies?!! fave costume? i’d have to say dressing up as Raggedy Ann!

  85. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:28 pmJen

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday!!! So much so DH and I almost got married on Halloween but the rest of the family wasn’t going along with it. LOL My favorite Halloween costume was a Wonder Woman costume my Mom made that looked just like Linda Cater’s! I was in Heaven with my magic golden lasso and all! This stamp set is just ADORABLE!!!!

  86. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:35 pmRobbie Rubala

I have seen this stamp on a couple of other blogs. Love it.

I have to say my favorite Halloween costume was not mine but one my mother wore. When we were little my mother dressed up as a clown and took us trick or treating. It was so much fun having my mom dress up with us.

    Robbie

  87. on 04 Aug 2008 at 5:43 pmstacie

I would have to say as a kid, it would probably be my Raggedy Ann costume. I loved the hair and make up. But as an adult, we dress up every year and I had a very cute LITTLE Raggedy Ann costume I used to wear before having all the babies! Now we go as Fred and Wilma Flintstone.

  88. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:14 pmShannon D

How adorable are those trick-or-treaters! Very cute card. My favorite Halloween costume I had was a home made Hershey’s Kiss! It had a pointy hat (for the top of the kiss) and the Hershey’s white paper coming out the top! Thanks for letting us all have a chance to win!

  89. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:15 pmPenny

My Mom made me a gorgeous Tinkerbell costume-wings and all. Only problem-it snowed and I had to wear my coat…ended up looking like The Hunch Back of Notre Dame.

  90. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:24 pmChristina

I remember loving a wedding Barbie costume, especially cause my mom let me wear makeup with it! Though now that I’m plenty old enough to wear makeup, I usually don’t even bother!!

  91. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:38 pmdawn k

My fave costume was Minnie Mouse. My Grandmother was great at making costumes. she even made me yellow felt covers for my shoes! I wish that I had half of her talent. I miss her so!

  92. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:53 pmTanya

I like your card! Thanks for the chance!
I really liked being an Indian when I was little. I tanned sooo well as a child and always had long, dark hair and had friends who thought I really was Native American, but no, just a French great-grandmother!

  93. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:55 pmAmanda

My favorite costume as a kid was my rainbow brite costume!!! It was awesome!!

  94. on 04 Aug 2008 at 6:58 pmStacey

My favorite costume as a child was Pippi Longstocking. My mom would braid my long hair and put wire in it and paint large freckles on my face.
The monster squad stamps are too cute!!

  95. on 04 Aug 2008 at 7:03 pmJessica

Jen, I LOVE this card, and those kids are SOOOOOOOO cute!!!! (monsters, I mean!)

My fave costume… hmmm, my mom made most of mine growing up, and they were all pretty fabulous! I guess my favorite would be the ladybug… it had fake legs sticking out of the side that were attached to each other and then to gloves that I wore, so when I moved my hands, all of the legs would move! So fun!

  96. on 04 Aug 2008 at 7:04 pmMacKenzie Bruckler

Oh this image is SUPER cute!! My favorite Halloween costume was when I was Miss Piggy in the 3rd grade. My mom found a fake pig nose for me to wear and BIG eyelashes. The best part was wearing high heels all day!

  97. on 04 Aug 2008 at 7:31 pmKerry J.

My fave costume as a child was the year I dressed up as an oreo cookie! Good times!

  98. on 04 Aug 2008 at 7:41 pmRegan

Oh, I would have to say a grizzly bear- my Mom made it out of this crazy thick fuzzy pelt stuff….I am in Canada and we actually get snow on Halloween sometimes so costumes HAVE to be warm!!!!

  99. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:09 pmSuzanne Dean

OMGoodness–what a cute stamp and cuter card! I just love ‘em both!! I can’t wait for the release party–always fun! My favorite Halloween costume was when I was 9 and my Mom made me an E.T. costume. It was furry with the long fingers and everything–it won me the “best costume” prize that year and I still have it. I had hoped one or both of my kids would wear it, but they were always scared of E.T. and never liked it–go figure–LOL!!

When I was around 10 my parents waited too late to get any good costumes for us kids. Living on a military base things would always go fast from the main store. I started the night off crying but ended up with more candy than I had ever recieved. Me and my 3 sisters were dressed in the rock band KISS costumes. The houses that we trick or treated at love the costumes and we were a hit. So I guess that would be one of my favorites. Yes it was 4 girls. But my father always got us boy stuff because he longed for a son. lol

  101. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:38 pmKarie

I love the simplicity of the white against the bold “monsters”. Really cute! When I was in second grade my mom dressed me up as a bag of garbage complete with the Hefty logo. I remember people asking me where Wimpy was. It wasn’t my favorite costume, but it is my most memorable.

  102. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:40 pmDana Grothaus

Love that card! My favorite costume as a child has to be when I dressed up as Raggedy Ann. I had red yarn hair and freckles on my cheeks. A lot of cute pictures were taken that year.

  103. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:43 pmcathy tidwell

These little guys are just too cute! Love your creation with them!

My Mother was a very gifted clothes maker, I didnt have a stitch of store bought clothes until I was in high school actually, lol! Soooo, she made alll of my halloween costumes! My favorite was a court jester one, had the pointed ends on the pants and sleeves and even the hat to match, with little jingle bells attached to each pointed end! Boy! Could I make some sound with that one!

  104. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:43 pmJulie

Very cute card, love this stamp. The only costume I can remember from when I was young was a couch potatoe costume. :) I’m sure there was a cuter one, but I just can’t remember.

  105. on 04 Aug 2008 at 8:51 pmMudmaven

When I was a teenager, I inherited my aunt’s Japanese geisha costume. My aunt was an art major in college and the costume was just wonderful. I think I wore it for so many halloweens. I finally wore it out! ~chris

  106. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:01 pmHeatherC

Just love Halloween! When I was in 5th grade, my friend Sarah and I made a siamese twin costume out of one of my dad’s old shirts that we cut down the back and sewed in a fabric panal so that it would fit around the two of us. We did our hair the same and make-up and just had a blast . We thought our costume was so cool, even though the sewing was terrible and we looked NOTHING alike!

  107. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:11 pmYvonne

When I was a kid my mom was forever making unique costumes out of things she found around the house! When I was around seven, I would have loved to be ‘Wonder Woman’ like my friends in their cool plastic masks or a witch like my neighbor. Was I doomed to be ‘a book’ like I was when I was five? Or worse was I going to be one of a pair of dice along with my equally unhappy older sister? NO! There was gonna be a Halloween parade in school and I didn’t want the other kids to tease me again! ALAS! This is the year I got to wear my favorite costume! My mom made me a bunch of grapes….attaching purple balloons all over me! A few green felt leaves and a green hat and I was the envy of the Second grade! MY mom gave me 23 Balloons! Who else’ mom was cool enough to do that?! WooHoo! My Mom rocked! It’s only now that I understand that we were poor, but my mom loved us and wanted us to have a Halloween costume that we could afford.

  108. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:16 pmjanna hull

I was probably 5 or 6 and my parents somehow thought it would be funny to dress me up as Dolly Parton. I had the big wig, the ballons and the cowboy boots. As much as I hate to admit this, it was so much fun dancing around, wearing lots and makeup and flinging my hair. In fact I think I still have that wig. :)

  109. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:32 pmDeborah

Oh my….my favorite costume was a hobo. Now you’re probably thinking why…it’s not glamourous, not a famous person or not even really scary, but I loved it ‘cos I got to wear my Dad’s clothes. I just thought I was somthin’ else because I was wearing my Dad’s old flannel shirt, his big pants with a rope to hold them up, his old hat and my little shoes were stuck inside his big shoes. I flopped around like I was wearing swimming fins, but I was proud to be wearing my Dad’s clothes. I think I I dressed as a hobo for several years. HA HA!!!

  110. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:32 pmTerri E.

My daughter was a monkey last year and I was a banana and I loved it!!

    It’s a good life!

I can’t say I remember a single Haloween custume. This card is just so cute.

  112. on 04 Aug 2008 at 9:42 pmLaura

Such a cute set! I think my favorite costume was the year I was a hula girl and got to pick out a grass skirt and wear lots of flowers.

  113. on 04 Aug 2008 at 10:01 pmJennifer Love

Oh how CUTE! Those stamps are just precious. :D

My favorite costume was when I got to be Tinkerbell. With a plastic mask and little cheapy gown an all. LOL Back then they were packaged in a box with a clear window. Not like today with all the fancy stuff. I loved that costume and wore it ’til it fell apart. hehe At least until Christmas because I have pictures of me in front of the Christmas tree with that silly gown on. LOL

  114. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:08 pmJessica

My favourite costume as a kid was one I made by myself. I was “half-man, half-woman”. I was quite proud of it!

  115. on 04 Aug 2008 at 11:12 pmBrenda

I love your card, adn what a super cute stamp. My favorite costume was a raggitty ann that my mom made for me. thanks for the chance.

  116. on 05 Aug 2008 at 12:01 amJennifer

I am one of my few friends who also does not go cookoo for Halloween. I am afraid of the dark so that might have something to do with it. I do like pumpkin patches and all the cutesie crafts for the holiday though, and I do LOVE fall… My favorite costume as a kid was when my mom made me up as a geisha… I don’t think it was my favorite at the time, but as I look back I think it was so sweet that my mom spent so much time with my make-up and the costume. I didn’t really love the holiday then, but I do remember spending that time with my mom.

  117. on 05 Aug 2008 at 1:54 amRoxanne J

When I was eight, I drssed up as a scarecrow. My fathers flannel shirt, a broomstick that I hung my arms over and of course, straw was stuffed in my shirt and overalls. The best part of this costume is when I turned unless I was really careful and what 8 year is I would hit the people around me with that broomstick. I had lots of tricks, but very little treats that year but it was my most memorable Halloween.

  118. on 05 Aug 2008 at 2:07 amArianne

We don’t celebrate Halloween in the Netherlands, but we do dress up once a year for our form of Mardi Grass.

The best costume I ever had, was that of what we call a majorette.
They are those dancing girls that acompany a brass band.
Sometimes they twirl those batons around.
I must have been about 8 when I wore that one, but still when I think of the Carnaval from when I was little, this costume pops in my head.

  119. on 05 Aug 2008 at 3:48 amteresa kline aka va.sunshine

cute card, my favorite costume was a cinderalla costume…I felt so pretty in that costume. thanks Jen *~*

  120. on 05 Aug 2008 at 3:58 ammarti-pezadoodle

hi Jen!!! wow are those TOO stinkin’ cute???? hhhmmmm favorite costume…i don’t know if this is a “real” thing but my neighbor and i called it “hoity-toities” - my grandma gave us some of my aunts’ old ball gowns so we dressed up in thos with TONS of makeup, gloves, floppy hats - you get the picture.

second fave - plastic bionic woman - oh yea baby!!!!

  121. on 05 Aug 2008 at 4:06 amkim

I would dress up like a princess. That was always my favorite and my daughter did the same when she was younger-brought back memories!!

  122. on 05 Aug 2008 at 4:20 amJamie

Oh gosh, these are adorable! I’d LOVE to add them to my collection! Hmmm, thinking back, I’d have to say that my absolute favorite costume when I was young would have been Pippi Longstocking (am I showing my age?). We even used a wire coat hanger to make my braids stick out!!! Oh my…what memories! Thanks!

  123. on 05 Aug 2008 at 4:30 amSandra

My favorite costume as a kid was this super elaborate (at least in my memories) Gypsy costume. My mom made this layered/tiered/ and gathered dark skirt out of a ton of scraps she had and I got to wear ALL of her costume jewelry. Man I thought I was special… I was probable 7 or 8 years old. Now I try to make my daughters memories as special by making her costumes. (haven’t been able to convince her to be a gypsy yet!!!)

    Thanks, Sandra

  124. on 05 Aug 2008 at 4:52 amLisa M

I think I was about 8 and my mother pulled out one of her old poodle skirt.. add in a few alterations (with saftey pins)… a hair tie, bobbie socks and my black and white shoes (what were they called).. and I was a 50’s girl… How cool was that?

  125. on 05 Aug 2008 at 5:06 amkristie larsen

I remember dressing up as a genie and was so excited until the weather changed and was so cold I had to wear clothes under and over my costume. I was so bummed out because i basically had on sweats and a genie top, then a coat. i looked lame and I knew it! Although i was so cold after trickortreating that i was finally glad I had so many clothes on. It even started to snow while I was on my way home that night!

  126. on 05 Aug 2008 at 5:58 amSheri Danielson

I dressed up as an adult working woman (remember that I am already old!) I wore my mom’s raccoon coat and lipstick etc. I think I was about 10 years old. One lady would not give me any candy as she said she thought I was the mom. If she watched me try to walk in those high heels, she would have known that was not the case!

  127. on 05 Aug 2008 at 6:12 amMarie Donnelly

My favorite was putting on every piece of costume jewelry my mom owned, and dressing up as a “Gypsy”! I distinctly remember Mom taking her eyebrow pencil to make a prominent “beauty mark” on my cheek for this! Great memories!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  128. on 05 Aug 2008 at 6:16 amAmy Johnson

Well I’m so old (LOL) that when I was kids Halloween Costumes were packaged and sold quite differently than they are now. They were basically plastic and sold in a box with a plastic mask. I think my favorite costume was a Barbie Costume. Oh, and by the way, I love MFT they are one of my favorite stamp companys and I love both halloween cards you made.

  129. on 05 Aug 2008 at 6:32 amRachel M.

I was five and it was my first Halloween. My parents bought me The Pink Panther costume. I guess because it was pink:) Great card! Little Monsters are so cute!

  130. on 05 Aug 2008 at 6:37 amDanisha

There are two costumes that I can think of that I loved. Both of them my mother concocted. The first was a leopard, she sowed the costume and I had ears as well as a long stuffed tail. I was probably 7 years old and all the boys kept pulling at my tail. The other costume was a gypsy, I wore a bright flowey robe of my mothers and had a long dark wig on with a scarf around my head, heavy eye makeup and big hoop earings. I thougt I looked very mysterious!!

The stamps are adorable, is it bad if I say I hope I win??? Love the cards you made, but then again, I pretty much like all the card you make!

    Danisha

  131. on 05 Aug 2008 at 7:04 amleanne

I love your card! My favorite costume was probably a 50’s girl with the poodle skirt and the high ponytail!

  132. on 05 Aug 2008 at 7:12 amDeborah

My favorite costume that I saw as a kid was this boy in my class who was a lego. He was inside a box that had four bowls (upside down) and it was all painted blue.

I was a bunny that year. Not that interesting. ha.

  133. on 05 Aug 2008 at 7:30 amKendra - SCS:apigonfire

I just adore this image! I’m not a Halloween girl myself, either, but this image just makes want to make Halloween cards this year! Too stinkin’ cute! I think it would make mighty cute cards throughout the year, although I don’t know how I’d frame that yet… get on that Jen! :)
So, even though I am not a big Halloween girl now, I loved it as a kid. I can’t pick a favorite costume - I have three. My first Halloween, I was a hobo. I still love looking at that picture of myself.
In the fourth grade, I was Tinkerbell. I don’t know if that was my favorite, but it definately was the most memorable, as I had a boy nickname me Stinkerbell…. he even called me that throughout high school!
Last, but not least, I was an ugly housewife in the 5th grade. We had a gallery show in our school and we walked through all of the classes. My mom let me borrow her bunny slippers and thought it would be a perfect addition to make me a cigarette…. you know, to go with the ugly housewife persona.. the kind that smokes and drinks coffee all day. My teacher about had a cow and told me that that was *not* allowed at school. I was mortified. I still remind my mother of that today! :)
Here’s to hoping I win! I’d love this set!
    ~Kendra

Thanks for the chance to win blog candy, these are SO adorable!
My favorite costume when I was a little kid was my princess costume. I would wear a crown and a very puffy dress and act like I was royalty. Too much fun!

  135. on 05 Aug 2008 at 7:56 amSharon

Super cute card! I think my favorite costume when I was little was probably a princess. My sisters and I would dress up in my Mom’s old prom dresses! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  136. on 05 Aug 2008 at 8:17 amLori A.

This set is SOOO cute! My favorite Halloween costume was Wonder Woman. My mom made it for me. She put white stars on a pair of blue shorts, made the eagle looking emblem to put on my red shirt, a yellow band around my waist with a star, a yellow “hat” with a star and some silver wrist bands. I also wore blue pantyhose with it and carried a rope. Oh yea, I had a black mask that covered my eyes, too. It was really cool! Thanks for the chance to win and reminisce!

  137. on 05 Aug 2008 at 8:19 amLeeanna Fatovic

My favorite Halloween costume was a robot! My Dad and I took a box, painted it silver and cut holes in it for my head and arms and VOILA - a robot!

  138. on 05 Aug 2008 at 8:37 amMelissa

My mom always made our costumes and our costumes rocked! It’s kind of amazing actually because she can’t really sew. One year she made me a martian costume that was so cool. I had this really cool greenish metallic looking make up, the arms were made out the coils you use to connect the dryer to the wall and the body was some metallic thick material. I can’t remember details very well, but I just remember KNOWING i had the best costume in the class.

  139. on 05 Aug 2008 at 8:44 amCJ Max

My favorite costume would have to be Lamb Chop…..I adored that little puppet.

  140. on 05 Aug 2008 at 8:54 amDonelle

I was Alice in Wonderland one year - I think the Disney movie came out that year. It’s funny - I have a hard time remembering what my Halloween costumes were - must be too long ago! The little critters are so cute on the new stamp!

  141. on 05 Aug 2008 at 9:15 amdoris

cute card! my favourite costume was a princess:)

  142. on 05 Aug 2008 at 9:25 amkathy

Oh, I LOVE the squad; they’re so cute! My favorite childhood costume was when my Mom made Indian costumes for all of us. My sister & I were squaws [of course] and my brother was a meanie [he always was, not just Halloween]. Our costumes were made of burlap & we had yarn wigs that she braided. I guess they should have been scratchy but we didn’t notice…

  143. on 05 Aug 2008 at 9:30 amHolly

Oh Halloween is a favorite time for me. I loved it as a kid and I love it today. We always made our costumes, and I have had lots of fun making them for my kids and friends over the years. My favorite costume as a kid was when I was a mummy. My favorite costume I made for my kids when they were little was dalmation, and unicorn. My favorite costume I made for a friend when she had a costume party to attend was a mallard duck. Her husband was going as the hunter!
I love to win this super adorable set!

  144. on 05 Aug 2008 at 9:34 amTerri

My most “memorable” and I don’t mean because it was anything special for sure, but because I kept getting stepped on the whole night. I was a ghost and we just took a big white sheet and draped it over me and cut out holes for the eyes. Unfortunately we didn’t think about cutting it short enough so that everyone around me didn’t step on it…I can’t tell you how many times I thought my head was going to get ripped off! Funny now, but I don’t remember it being too humorous at the time!

Love these new MFT sets, btw!

  145. on 05 Aug 2008 at 9:40 amRegina Cornelius

my favorite costume as a kid was a flat plastic strawberry shortcake costume sewn up around the sides….talk about 1 dimensional!!!! and t came complete with a plastic face mask with an elastic cord that always dug into your neck!!! looking back, wearing it was probably toture but i loved strawberry shortcake and was proud to be her!!!

  146. on 05 Aug 2008 at 10:08 amJennifer Brooks

Our family didn’t go all out for Halloween when we were kids. I guess we didn’t have a lot of money (not that we knew we were poor :)) So, I was a ghost for around 3 years in a row. Yep, My mom cut holes in a white sheet. Now my boys are too old, but I dress my dog up for the big night and the neighborhood kids love it!!!

  147. on 05 Aug 2008 at 10:12 amMichelle

I have to say growing up with a single parent there wasn’t much money for costumes they were ususally hand me downs from cousins so no real faves there, but I have two costumes from my children. For my oldest it was his FIRST costume he was two months old and a total cherub complete with double chin and the most adorable chubbie cheeks and we dressed him up as a jester/clown, hat and all. We handed out candy with him dressed. Cutest jester/clown EVER!! My youngest at four decided he wanted to be a “punkin” couldn’t pronounce it right, after his first field trip with his Pre K Class so he got a pumpkin stem hat and we stuff his carved pumpkin suit with throw pillows his chubbie cheeks clinched him the cutest pumpkin EVER win!!

I was never much of a girly girl, even really little. But in kindergarten my mom made me a purple, because I didn’t do pink, ballerina costume. IT was gorgeous. She spent hours on it, and I loved that costume. I ended up having to wear my long winter jacket over top of it because I live in Canada, but it was always my favortie, and I would dress up in it for the next year.

I don’t know if you could call this my favorite costume, but certainly memorable. At the last minute on Halloween night, my sister and I needed cosutmes - mom pulled out a dark brown corderoy cape for me - she safety pinned feather pillows together at my shoulders so that they sat both front and back, then put on the cape - what was I - an acorn! I had to tell absolutely everyone what I was supposed to be - about half way around the block, the safety pins started to rip the pillows and I left a trail of feathers the rest of the evening.

When I was about 6 my favorite costume was a Damsel from the Knights of the roundtable era. My mother made me the dress and she covered a witches hat with blue and gold fabric. I loved that costume!!!

At the time it was still okay to be an American Indian Maiden (now I guess I would be politically incorrect). I had very long black hair and of course wore Mom gave me wonderful braids. We raised a variety of chickens so I used the feathers to make my headband (crafty even at age 6). We used the old grocery brown bags to make a dress using pinking shears to make the jagged hem. I won best costume and got some silver dollars for my prize.

This is an absolutely ADORABLE stamp…..truly one of the cutest Halloween stamps out there. As for my favorite costume, I was a bride when I was in second grade and I thought I looked beautiful. Of course, it was the plastic mask that was beautiful! LOL!

My favorite costume was being a cheerleader…. I was about 6 or 7 and my grandmother sewed my costume to match the High school varsity cheer leaders and I would wear it to basketball games. football games and the cheer leaders would let me cheer with them…. it was such an honor to cheer with these “professional” cheer leaders LOL so I thought….

Oh my goodness, I will always remember the SANDWICH costume my mom made for me :) I think I was probably 7 or 8 years old. She cut out big pieces of coloured bristol board and decorated them to look like ham, cheese, lettuce and bread :) There were arm holes and ropes that held it together and I remember getting a lot of smiles (and candy!) at how creative it was.

Your card is just too stinkin’ cute!! My favorite costume when I was little was one my Grandma made for me and my sister. She made us gorgeous kimonos, and Mom did our hair and makeup! Loved when Grandma sewed for us!

    Hi Jen
My favorite Halloween Costume was when I was 4 or 5 my Granny dressed me and my two cousins up. I was the Robber and then there was a gypsy, a witch. I found the pictures one day looking thru my moms albums. I had to get a copy. It makes me laugh every time I see it.

I LOVE the card. Its so cute:)

what a great question!!!! I loved being a kid and halloween!!! my favorite was my plastic casper the ghost costume with the hard plastic mask to go over your face and make you all sweaty. I remember puting it back in the box and playing with it for quite some time after the season was over. the cards are adorable!

great card Jen, what cute stamps! I was 5 when I had my favorite costume. I was a witch, pointy hat and everything, I was at my grandmas halloween party in her town Paynesville MN and someone took a picture of me for the local newspaper and I made front page!! It said I was the cutest witch there! I still have a copy of this newspaper, it is yellow with age but I love having it! thanks for the remonder of fun childhood times. Halloween is still my favorite holiday!

I remember being a superwoman but other than that, I just remember being an uncreative ghost. A Charlie Brown kind of ghost too. It was pretty bad, but I was just in it for the candy. My poor children suffered as result and had to live with an overly creative mother who made up for those days of lack of creative costumes by making costumes for them such as a horseback rider to a bunch of grapes. @@

While I myself never did Halloween I was always thinking about what costume I would wear if I had been allowed to celebrate it. Hands down it was a princess. I was in LOVE with glitzy and sparkly stuff (um, not much has changed!LOL) and I knew that I could have outfitted myself with so much bling! LOL!

I’m loving the new MFT stamps! I love the simplicity of the designs!

Oh what a cute set! My favorite was when I was around 10. I was Pocohontas! I just loved that “leather type” fringed dress. I had long black hair so my mom put my hair in braids and I had this headband with a feather in the back. I carried a “drum” I made in Kindergarten from a milk can with black leather on top. I still have the drum!
Thanks for the chance to win!
