Special Edition of Sketch For You To Try…

Posted by Jen | Bella, cards, challenges, designer of the month | Saturday, May 31, 2008

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s been a busy week, and next week is looking just as crazy. But for now, we have Saturday, and that’s a good thing! This week we {Amy, Carole, Shannan, Susan and I} decided to use Bellas {or other lines offered by Stamping Bella} for this sketch…which lends itself very nicely to da Bellas! We won’t be doing this every week, but from time to time we might choose to incorporate and certain stamp or company into the Sketch For You To Try. I hope you like what we have come up with!! {click on their names to see their samples! ;)}

The sketch…

I have to admit that I had issues with spacing and not adding extra stuff to this. So, it’s not my favorite sketch. Fortunately, there’s always the others in the past and the ones in the future! I do love that lattebella, tho! :)

I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Toni Whitnell for joining us this month as the Guest Designer!! Here is her GORGEOUS sample…

Don’t forget that Tony is here tomorrow. I sure he’ll be on some soapbox or have some wit for you to chuckle at…maybe both.

ETA: If you upload to SCS, don’t forget to use the keyword SFYTT. Thanks!!

Fabulous sketch Jen! You may not like it so much but I’m sure the rest of us do ;)
Your card is so cute with Bella. Love the shadow you created under her!!
Toni’s card is gorgeous with that embossed background and her butterfly! Wow!

Off to check out the other girls samples as I drink my morning coffee!

Great sketch today! I think I can use that lots! Your latte bella is just out of this world…just wow!

Both cards are great interpretations on the sketch! I would not have ever thought to align the bottom right corner but this is working and looks easy enough for me to try! Thanks for sharing these cards!

Are you kidding me? This is FANTASTIC!! I *love* this sketch! Hopefully I will have some tme this weekend to try it out. Have a wonderful weekend!

See? I LOVE this sketch! One of my faves! : ) Different strokes, huh? Love your Lattebella! Colored beautifully, as usual. I colored my Diplomabella’s robe too dark at first, then when I tried to lighten it… oh, well. It’ll do… I really think it’s fun, all of us using the same sort of stamp — makes me even more excited to see what everyone made. Toni did a great job this month. And I’m excited for *someone* to be joining us in June! Fun stuff, as always!

(sorry for the rambling comment — too much caffeine!)

I LOVE the sketch! Can’t wait to give it a whirl!! Your card is perfect. I love the red ribbon!!

I have one question…could you give the colors of copics you use when coloring an image? I know that ’s a lot to add to a post, but I just got a set of copics and would love to know more about how you color with them. Your color and shading is always spot on!!

    Toni’s card is gorgeous!!

Thanks for the nudge to ink up my new Bellas. I’m in love!!! Your Lattebella is awesome - amazing coloring as usual. I love the red ribbon and red seat cushion. Toni’s card is GORGEOUS! It’s been great having her play along this month, and I look forward to the unveiling of the June guest designer next Saturday. Have a great weekend, Jen!

    hi jen!
great sketch - i hope to get some time to play with it today. your coloring is gorgeous as usual and you may have tipped me over the fence on the copics with your close ups this week. then amy brought hers over last night to show and well, let’s just say i have added to my must have list :P (notice it doesn’t say *wish* list)

I am also use to adding alot to a card but I think this looks terrific, great coloring and Love your perfect bow and the scallop!

  16. Comment by Susy — June 1, 2008 @ 6:53 am

Love the card and sketch, very nice. What colour copics did you use to do her jeans? I’ve been looking for a nice deminy blue but it’s so hard to pick copic colours out from websites as they look so different irl.

Love your Bella card, she is really looking smashing as well she should. I really liked Toni’s card too. I tried to find out more info about it (i.e. what colors she used for paper and ink?) but couldn’t find the card elsewhere. It was not located on her blog. Any chance you could help me find it?

Here is mine Jen!! I took the Bella challenge too, I figure I need to use some of my old ones before all my new ones get here!!
